CONSTITUTION OF THE PRINT SOCIETY ARTICLE I. NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION The name of this organization is The Print Society of Bowling Green State University. ARTICLE II. AFFILIATION WITH OTHER GROUPS The Print Society is affiliated with Bowling Green State University’s School of Art. ARTICLE III. PURPOSE, AIMS, FUNCTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION The purposes are to meet and discuss the ever-growing issues in the printmaking field; to provide extracurricular print activities; to promote student involvement with regional and national printmaking organizations; and to educate the public and promote awareness and appreciation of the art of making original prints. ARTICLE IV. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS Students currently or formerly enrolled in printmaking classes are eligible for membership. All members must be currently enrolled at or affiliated with BGSU. ARTICLE V. OFFICERS The officers of this organization shall be a President, Vice-President(s), Secretary and Treasurer, elected by simple majority vote of the membership at the last meeting of the academic year. The term of office shall last one academic year. Training for new officers shall be conducted by the outgoing officers in the week following the elections. The incoming and outgoing officers for each position will meet simultaneously with the organization’s faculty advisor to ensure proper training. When possible, the Treasurer position will be held by a student planning to return the following year, so that the previous year’s Treasurer can assist the new Treasurer throughout the course of the year. ARTICLE VI. ADVISER The Adviser shall be the head of the Printmaking area. ARTICLE VII. MEETINGS Meetings shall be held monthly during the academic year. Special meetings may be called by the President or the Faculty Advisor. ARTICLE VIII. QUORUM A quorum shall consist of 2/3 of the membership in regular attendance of meetings. ARTICLE IX. REFERENDUM AND RECALL Any officer of the organization may be removed from office by the following procedure: A request to consider removal must be submitted to the Faculty Adviser. Such a request must bear the signatures of five members of the organization in good standing. A quorum vote of the membership will follow. ARTICLE X. AMENDMENTS An amendment can be proposed by any member of the organization, and must be confirmed by a 2/3 vote of the members in regular attendance. Amendments must be published and distributed to the membership.
