Library Collections
The University of Michigan Library is a depository for publications of the United States
Government, State of Michigan, Government of Canada, United Nations, Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations, Asian Development Bank and South Pacific Commission.
The Library subscribes to publications of several international agencies, including the
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and selectively purchases
publications of other states and nations. Government publications are integrated into the
collections of the various campus libraries. The Law Library is a depository for the European
Union, and the Media Union Library is a separate U.S. Patent and Trademark Office depository.
Library collections in paper or electronic format are available to the general public for in-library
use; publications that circulate to University of Michigan students and staff are also available to
the general public for interlibrary loan.
