Written Report on Internship Experience
A written report of your internship experience must be included in your writing portfolio. This report typically takes the form of a memo and should:
Provide a detailed overview of your host organization;
-
Identify the goals (and revised goals) you established for your internship;
-
Discuss projects that enabled you to meet these goals;
-
Discuss challenges and recommendations;
-
How would you evaluate your self in this internship?
The primary audience for the internship report is Nicole, as the instructor for the class. However, in the past, interns have addressed reports to their host organizations. Experiment with document design to determine the most accessible way for presenting this information. Consider using headers, font types, lists, whitespace, etc.
Please have the internship report to me by noon on Friday, June 12.
Writing Portfolio
Your writing portfolio is likely to take one of two forms:
A.
a writing portfolio that shows the work you have completed in your internship; or
B.
a writing portfolio that shows the scope of your “writing life”
The minimum requirement for this class is Form A, which is due during the portfolio showcase on Friday,
June 6. To support the work that you have done in your internship, your writing portfolio should include: a table-of-contents, a resume, a job description [and title], goals, and a minimum of 2 relevant writing samples or displays of learning.
Final Course Materials
To ensure that your writing portfolio remains in your hands for use, please make copies of the following materials for me to have by Friday, June 12 The materials can be turned in under the door at Humanities 311 or via canvas messages.
