美国斯坦福大学卡耐基研究院植物研究所名誉所长 Winslow Briggs 教授,获得
中国科学院爱因斯坦讲席教授邀请,将来研究生院做报告。
Briggs 教授毕业于哈佛大学(本科、硕士、博士),其后曾在斯坦福大学及哈佛
大学担任生物系教授,于 1973-1993 年担任卡耐基研究院植物研究所所长,现
为名誉所长。
Briggs 教授先后获得许多重要荣誉:1974 美国科学院院士,1975 美国艺术与科
学院院士,德国洪堡基金奖励,2007 年美国植物学会 Adolph E. Gude, Jr.奖励;
2009 年日本学术振兴会国际生物学奖赏。先后共同主持了光受体 Gordon 大会,
植物分子生物学 Gordon 大会,美国科学院植物学部分会。
Briggs 教授自 1959 年起,长期担任 Annual Review of Plant Biologist(影响因
子为 23)的主编或副主编,现仍担任该杂志的副主编。
Briggs 教授长期从事植物对光(蓝光和红光)应答的生理机制及光受体系统的研
究,是世界上该领域的开创者。
