Biography Book R e p Read a biography on any famous person who interests you. You will use Power Point or SMARTNotebook to complete this project by ____________________. o Your presentation needs to be a minimum of six slides including a title slide , the Important Poem slide, the timeline slide, at least 2 biography slides, and a final Works r Cited slide. Once you have finished reading the biography you may use other sources on your famous person to complete this project. Any sources you use must be listed on your t final ‘Works Cited’ page of your presentation. You will present to the class the week the project is due. Slide 1: Title Slide This slide should include the title of the biography, the author, your name and a picture of the famous person. Slide 2: Important Book Poem Earlier this year, we read The Important Book by Margaret Wise Brown. Use this as a model and write a poem entitled “The Important Thing” using your famous person as the subject of the poem. Example: The important thing about______________________is that he was_______________. He ________________________________________________________________ . He ________________________________________________________________ . He ________________________________________________________________ . But the important thing about_________________ is that he was ________________ . Here is an example poem: The important thing about Sir Francis Drake is that he was an English explorer. He was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the world. He followed secret orders from Queen Elizabeth as a pirate who attacked Spanish ships and towns. He later became Vice-Admiral of the English navy as commanded by the queen. But, the most important thing about Sir Francis Drake is that he was an English explorer. Slide 3: Timeline Include a timeline of your famous person’s life. Show a minimum of 8 important events. Include clip art for at least 4 events. Slides 4-? Biography Report The rest of the slides will include a minimum of 15 bullet points detailing the important information you read in your biography. You will need to include: -a background of the famous person -his/her contributions to society -why you chose that person. You should not copy down word-for-word any section of the text; instead, take a section you want to include and rewrite it in your own words. Final Slide: Works Cited On this slide you need to include the biography you read as well as any other sources of information in order to give credit to those authors. Use the following APA format: Books: Author(s) or Editor(s) (last name, first initials). (Year of publication). Title of book. City of publication: Publisher. Websites: Author(s) of article.
