Directs and administers all promotion, research and education programs on behalf of 18
thousand beef and dairy producers for Minnesota's $ 1 billion beef industry. Manages $1.6
million in annual beef check off assessments and invests these funds in research, promotion,
consumer education and public relations/issues management programs.
Special Accomplishments:
 Positioned Minnesota as a nationally respected leader in cooperation with diet and
health professionals to emphasize the role of lean beef in a healthy diet.
 Implemented highly successful Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) education and
certification program that has served as model for similar programs in several states
 Brought Minnesota to national prominence in the area of food safety especially in the
use of food irradiation to reduce or eliminate harmful bacteria.
 Successfully implemented issues management/public relations strategies to enhance
the image of the beef industry and livestock production.



Directed international sales of field seeds, animal feeds and dairy cattle to customers
worldwide (1984-86). Major markets included Indonesia, Venezuela, Japan, Mexico,

Directed technology transfer and farmer training programs for extension advisors and
farmers affiliated with a twelve thousand head dairy cattle project at Salatiga, Central
Java, Indonesia (1987-90).

Executive Secretary (1982 – 1984)
 Management of 2500 member state cattle association. Supervised all activities
including monthly magazine, membership expansion, consignment sale selection,
private treaty cattle marketing and legislative activities. Membership increased by 20%
and annual cattle sales went from zero to over 2000 head annually valued at over $2
million.
American Breeders Service, DeForest, WI
Director International Marketing (1977-1982)
 Overseas marketing of bovine genetics (frozen semen) to extensive customer base in Europe
and Africa. Sales volume increased four-fold and market share tripled during the 5 year
period American Breeders Service received the "Presidents E Award" in 1981 from the USDA
for excellence in exporting.

Ronald Eustice has received several honors, including the Minnesota Honorary Future
Farmer (FFA) Degree (1999), Distinguished Service Award, MN Foundation for
Responsible Animal Care (2000), Honorary American Farmer Degree from National FFA
(2001), MN Dept of Ag Excellence in Food Safety Award (2002) and Southern MN Ag
Ambassador of the Year Award (2004) and University of Minnesota Extension Service
“Friend of Agriculture” Award (2007). In 2008 he was inducted into the Minnesota Livestock
Breeders Association Hall of Fame.
Publications
He is also an author or co-author of about 100 articles in technical and trade journals on subjects
relating to food safety, quality assurance and other food industry topics.
Speaking Engagements
Ronald Eustice has been invited by international agencies, foreign governments and
professional organizations to conduct educational activities and workshops about food safety
and irradiation of meats and produce in more than 30 states, 3 Canadian provinces as well as
Argentina, Brazil, India, Korea, Spain, Peru, Thailand and Uruguay.
