Van Diemen’s Land Circumnavigation Committee of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania
Since 1990, the RYCT’s Van Diemens Land Circumnavigation Committee has organised 9 successful cruises-in-company around Tasmania. The last 4 have been held this century - in 2002, 2005, 2007 and
2009; and the last 3 have been managed in conjunction with the Royal Geelong Yacht Club. The VDL-C
Committee is in the process of organising the next circumnavigation cruise - for 5 weeks, beginning on 16 th
February 2011.
In the off-years the committee has taken to organising shorter, more informal events with a smaller fleet. In
2008, it was to the Furneaux Group and Deal Island; in 2010, it was to the Gippsland Lakes. Both of these cruises lasted 3 weeks. For all such RYCT-sponsored cruises, participating vessels are required to meet specified minimum safety requirements.
The purpose of this survey is to assist us in planning future events, particularly the next one in 2011/12, by identifying the needs and preferences among the cruising community, particularly in Tasmania, for cruisesin-company around the Tasmanian coast and perhaps further afield.
To achieve this end, we would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete the survey and return it to the RYCT at the address given below by the Monday 30th August 2010 if possible. This survey form is also available in the C RUISING section of the club website <www.ryct.org.au> as both an MSWord document so you can complete it on your computer (and then return it by email), and as a PDF document suitable for printing that can be completed by hand and returned by fax or snail-mail.
