Professional Training Programmes in Educational Psychology
EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The British Psychological Service guidelines on the evaluation of initial training courses say: "the course
should have an Advisory Committee to advise on all aspects of the course which the course tutor should
chair; on which trainees, educational psychologists from the region and academic staff are represented.
It should meet regularly and at least once a year". (BPS, 1994. Para 2,9)
UCL Concept
The Advisory Committee should provide a forum for communication between representatives of our
customers and representatives of the course team.

Remit of the Committee
To obtain comment on the course from the customer's perspectives, the changes they would like to see
and aspects of the course which in their opinion are working well. Their key role would be one of

turn would be providing them with regular information about the course and any proposed changes.
