Faith Kindler Kaplan, Ph.D., C.Psych. is a clinical, rehabilitation, educational and consulting
psychologist; partner in Kaplan and Kaplan, Psychologists, a psychological clinic and
assessment centre. She received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Political Science from the
University of North Carolina (1968) and Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from the University of
Toronto (1977). She was licensed as a psychologist in Ontario in 1978 and is registered with the
Canadian Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
The clinic provides a wide range of psychological services in such areas as: clinical
psychological assessment and treatment with adults and children; health psychology and
behavioural interventions regarding management of medical conditions; cognitive impairment
evaluation and rehabilitation; vocational and career assessment and intervention; family
education and treatment; bereavement psychotherapy; assessment and consultation regarding
developmental disorders and learning disabilities; psychological pain management; treatment of
psycho-traumatic disorders; psychological treatment for adults and children with traumatic
physical injuries and disfigurement. The assessment centre was designated by FSCO to conduct
multidisciplinary disability assessments under Bill 164 and Bill 59 and catastrophic impairment
assessments under Bill 59. The assessment centre continues to carry out integrated
psychological, neuropsychological and multi-disciplinary assessments regarding catastrophic
impairment, disability and other legal tests.
Dr. Kaplan represents the OPA in the Coalition of Health Care Providers regarding auto
insurance and has recently been involved in the working group on the HCAI system as well as
the review of the WAD PAF Guidelines. She is co-chair of the OPA Auto Insurance Task Force.
She was one of the founding members of CAPDA. She is an associate member of CSME and
represents associate members on the Board. Dr. Kaplan received the Ontario Psychological
Association Annual Award of Merit for 1998 and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. In 2005
she was awarded the APA Karl Heiser Presidential Award for advocacy.
