Workshop with Karen Strange
Karen Strange will be covering AAP/NRP, more on Neonatal transitional physiology, the evidence based studies behind
the guidelines, both the 5th and 6th edition, an understanding of the nervous system and how that pertains to you in an
emergency thus providing skills specific to performing neonatal resuscitation. Karen presents a broader understanding of
how to think about resuscitating a newborn. She demonstrates the baby’s perspective and experience of birth as well as
tools for babies regardless of where they are born and what happens to them in the birth.

NEW book and testing information
As of January 1, 2012 all AAP/NRP courses will use the 6th Edition Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation.
In order to take any NRP course you will:
1) have to secure a location where you will take the class
2) before coming to class (within 2 weeks of the class) you MUST take the test online which is
called the written evaluation. Once you have passed,
3) you will need to print out a verification form and bring that verification form to class.
You must take the test before you come to class and bring the verification form to the class or you will not be
admitted into the class.
The online test costs $23.50 and that goes directly to AAP/NRP.
You must read the 6th edition textbook before taking the test (if you want to pass).
You do not have to buy the book but you do need to read it.

Continental breakfast and snacks will be provided. Please bring a potluck dish to share for lunch. There will be
CHOCOLATE in the afternoon, as always in Karen's class

You will get a FULL REFUND if you cancel by the morning of the class. If you do not notify me or the sponsor (by phone
or email) by the morning of the class, there will be a $50 fee to cover shipping costs.
