“Bird’s Eye View” Tribune Monday, August 26, 2013 Mrs. Watts-Hayes 5th Grade Wow, what a first seven days back to school we have had. Our fifth graders are already leading the school. The students have been organizing their binders, desks, and started on “real” school work, too! The expectations have been met! Moreau Heights expects our fifth graders to be the leaders for this school. They are the class that the others “look up to.” This newsletter will discuss school/class theme, orchestra, spirit day and assembly, schedules for library and counselor, birthdays, football, recorder club, subject updates, upcoming events, Flying High Awards and contact information. School /Class Theme This year’s school theme is Strutting Our Colors Proudly and from a Bird’s Eye View. Our class room theme stems off from the school theme of Color Your World. Orchestra The fifth graders attended an assembly given by the Orchestra Department. The members of the Orchestra staff performed on the violin, viola, and cello. The students were then invited to sign up to take music lessons and to become a part of the orchestra. Many students showed a great deal of interest. Students should have brought home a brochure with all of the requirements, dates, etc. Permission slips are due by Friday, September 6. I look forward to going to the concerts!
