Inaugural meeting of the Peak Gardens Riverside Tennis Club.
The inaugural meeting of the Peak Gardens Riverside Tennis Club was held on the 8th.
August 2007 at the Club.
Meeting commenced at 19.45 and Tony Meadows as the Chair Person opened the
meeting and declared all positions vacant.

The president moved that, the New Constitution be accepted. Motion Passed.
General Matters: The President moved that, the New Name of the Club be accepted.
Motion passed.
Meeting closed at 20.10, and the First General Meeting was held.

Membership rights, fees and Entitlements:-

Court key (Adults only), membership i.d. (to be carried), discount light hire,
minimum of one member per court

Full member- Annual membership $130-150 depends on no. of players ‘not set’
Competition player - membership and voting rights, comp. balls inclusive.(winterthere may be ball fees and or light fees extra)
Adult student concession - $100.00 (with student card)


Social member – Annual membership $70.00 no voting rights non competitive
membership rights. Key to gate. No balls provided. (no concession fee for this
category) - carried

Junior member - Winter $50 – Summer $50 ‘passed vote’ Competition player
balls inclusive membership rights

Family membership – two options presented

Two full member adults – children free


Percentage discount per child i.e. 1st child 10%, 2nd child 20% etc,
(Jackie to formulate some comparative figures for next meeting for voting.)

2. Fees to be paid by 1st of December
3. Also subs will be addressed pro-rata for players joining during the season
4. Fill ins required to pay tennis S.A. registration upon completion of third match
5. Proposal of Identification Tag.:- i.e. key ring, magnet

6. Signage that ‘members have priority with usage of courts’.
7. One member per court.
8. Wall planner to be implemented with court bookings
9. Jeff Ramm and Jackie Zaknic to compile numbers for senior and junior summer
competition.
10. Singles competition teams to be arranged in order of merit. motion carried
11. Opportunity for juniors to be fill in’s for senior matches.
12. There is the possibility of a pennant team playing for the club.
13. Suggestion of organization of a roster for the canteen to open on a regular basis,
i.e. 2-4pm Sunday’s?
14. The naming of the club came up again but it was voted that ‘Peake Gardens
Riverside Tennis Club’ remain.
15. In reference to the (Alan Norton clause) existing Tuesday night, Thursday night,
Thursday morning and Sunday afternoon social tennis retain the use of the hut.
16. Juniors competition to use the main clubhouse with a parent rostered for the
canteen.
17. Deb Haskell to undertake the cleaning of the clubhouse
18. Club bank accounts to remain separate until clubhouse renovations have been
completed and paid for and maturation of some deposits. Jackie to confer with
Alan
19. Honorariums of $250.00 to be paid to president, vice president, secretary,
treasurer, team selector (this position unfilled currently) and junior coordinator.

20. A telephone to be made available in the main clubroom for phonecalls chasing up
players. (? Whether this should be a service capable of mobile calls)
21. Night tennis coordinator volunteer is Judy Svetlichny. She will make $100.00 per
night.
22. The club coach must be a full paying member, must play for the club and be
available to coach members and their children as a priority. The coach will cover
the expense of light usage @ $5.00/hour. A back up coach was discussed for
when the club coach is unavailable or fully booked. Mention of Sasa and Adam
as possibilities for the position. Their standing with regard to insurance and
interest to be determined.
23. $10.00 per hour court hire to non members.
24. Sponsorship signage per court to be investigated and followed up. There have
been expressions of interest.
25. Next meeting scheduled for Thursday 30 August.
