Codicote Tennis Club - Court Opening Event - Sunday 30 November at 1pm Codicote Tennis Club are delighted to announce the officially opening of their newly resurfaced tennis court on Sunday 30 November at 1pm at the tennis club in Bury Lane. The club has 3 floodlight courts and this event marks the completion of a 3 year court development programme to upgrade the quality of the courts and the facilities for its members and the local community. A substantial proportion of the funding for the final phase of the court development project was provided by Lafarge Tarmac via the Landfill Communities Fund. Their grant proved to be a valuable source of funding and enabled the project to be completed within our planned timescales. Additional funding was also provided by Codicote Parish Council and the County Councillor’s Locality Budget Scheme. The completion of this project has made an important contribution to the overall improvement of sporting facilities for Codicote village, and compliments the building of a new sports centre currently being undertaken by The John Clement Sports and Community Trust. The court will be officially opened by a representative from Lafarge Tarmac and Daniel Du Gard from Groundwork Hertfordshire and will be followed by refreshments and an exhibition match to showcase the new court. Richard Thake & Jane Gray, North Herts District Councillor’s and local Parish Councillors have been invited and we expect the event to be well attended by tennis members and local community. The Chairman and members of the Codicote Tennis Club Committee would like thank everyone involved in the Project for their contribution, support, and commitment to the improvement of facilities for the club and Codicote Village.
