PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Barnabas Consulting Inc, (BCI) Educational Charity 2010 – present BCI was created in 2010 to bring high quality volunteer training to churches . Barnabas Consulting Inc is a 501c3 educational charity. We offer practical training to help churches better serve hurting people. We use both seminar and small group formats for training as well as web-based calls and meetings. President Currently responsible for creating content, marketing, as well as on-site training and evaluation. Currently offer seven different non-sectarian and affordable seminars custom-designed to assist these churches in developing a team of competent and caring individuals. Pastoral Ministry (Private Practice) 2008-present Mentoring young pastors, private counseling for married couples, public speaking, adult religious education, preaching, performing weddings, church consulting, men’s small group discipleship, blogging, international Missions involvement, hospital visitation, pastoral care & visitation of the sick, international student ministries, international friendship evangelism Presbyterian Church in America 1977 – 2014 Trinity Presbyterian Church, Alpharetta, Georgia (2005-2008) Founding Pastor Responsible for initial start-up fundraising, core group formation, marketing, staffing, volunteer coordination, teaching, leadership selection and training, site selection, contract negotiation and public relations. Accomplishments Trinity provided a spiritual home for adults and children as well as a base from which we could serve the community of Alpharetta together by providing volunteers, finances and food for need families through local faith-based ministries. Pacific Crossroads, Los Angeles California (1998-2005) Responsible for initial fundraising, core group formation beginning with no contacts, oversight of volunteers, staff selection, as the congregation grew I oversaw finding suitable meeting facilities 5 different times, initial team design and leadership selection, staff development, oversight of internships, development of small-group ministry, development of community outreach initiatives and establish additional churches. Accomplishments We developed a budget of $750,000 within the first five years. We started two additional churches. We hosted a Mission To The World Summer Missions project in LA in association with planting a new church there. The church has grown to over 1,500 young professionals and is still growing with a plan to start additional new churches. Faith Presbyterian Church, White Rock, SC (1990-1998) Served as Senior pastor of multiple staff semi-rural church. Responsible for leadership development of staff, elders, deacons, ministry-team leaders, volunteers, caring for the congregation, restructuring and revitalizing the church. Accomplishments Created a strong team of officers (12) and volunteer leaders (75-100) in a church that had declining membership. Strengthened the volunteer leadership team as church continued to grow by identifying and reducing the number of impediments to volunteerism. The Chapel of Youngstown, Youngstown, Ohio (1985-1990) Responsible for identifying the demographics for a new church, creating funding, attracting members, doing personal evangelism, planning and executing outreach events, appointing and developing all teams, and bringing the church to self-sustaining independence. Served as the Solo Senior Pastor responsible for general teaching and shepherding accountabilities. Starting with a small group of less than 30 and grew it to over 100 members. Hosted “Wisdom for Daily Living” radio program on WGFT for one year. Accomplishments Successful in having life impact and deep, long-term friendships.
