1. Bonding: Forming strong emotional ties between a parent and child.
2. Incubator: Closed crib with the oxygen supply, temperature, and humidity
closely controlled.
3. Postnatal: Period after birth.
4. Premature: Baby born before 37 weeks of development.
5. Rooming-in: baby stays in the mother’s room day and night rather than in a
hospital nursery
6. Grasp Reflex: automatic response of a newborn’s hand to close over
anything that comes in contact with the palm.
7. Reflexes: Instinctive, automatic responses.
8. Rooting Reflex: automatic response when touched on the lips or cheek.
9. Startle Reflex: automatic response to a loud noise or to a touch on the
stomach.
10.Temperament: Style of reacting to the world and relating to others.
11.Depth Perception: recognizing 3D objects.
12.Hand-eye Coordination: ability to move their hands and fingers precisely in
relation to what is seen.
