GRADUATES OF JUNE 2016 SA-HALI SECONDARY SCHOOL GRAD NEWSLETTER #1 October 28, 2015 IMPORTANT DATES: November 25 – 28th, 2015 – Grad Photos (appt. sheet will be in the office on Nov 12/15) Wednesday, June 1, 2016 - Commencement Day Grad Commencement Rehearsal @ 12:00pm Grads will be bused to the MacArthur Island Sports Centre-bus pickup @ 11:30am out front of Sa-Hali Secondary School Grad/Staff Reception @5:00pm at the MacArthur Island Sports Centre Commencement Ceremony @ 7:00 pm MacArthur Island Sports Centre Saturday, June 4th, 2016 Grad Banquet and Dance held at TRU Time: TBA th Saturday, June 4 , 2016 Safe Grad @ Kamloops Curling Club ********************************************************************* GRAD 2016 INFORMATION COMMENCEMENT FEE is $100.00 - Fee is payable to Sa-Hali Secondary School Commencement Fee will be $100.00 per student. This fee will include Graduation Commencement rental facilities, Grad Commencement reception, Grad flowers, decorations, cap/gown/v-stole, diploma inserts, grad invitations and printing. This fee is payable to Sa-Hali Secondary School and cannot be combined with the Safe Grad Fee. Grad Gown Measurements – grads are to come to the office and we will record your height. Graduation Photo: November 25th to November 28 by Right Photography Ltd. A sign up for photo time will be in the office – two weeks prior to November 25th. ALL GRADS must sit for a photo if they wish to be on the Grad Composite that is framed and hung in the school. There is a $30 sitting fee that includes 12 previews and a 5x7 grad cap/gown photo. Right Photography accepts cash, cheques, Visa and MasterCard. Any students who do not bring their sitting fee will have their previews held until payment is made. Photo preview will be delivered to the school approximately 2 weeks after all students have been photographed. Right Photography will collect orders one week after preview delivery. Grad photo retakes will take place February 16, 2016. Grad Valedictorians: 1 Male and 1 Female – chosen by Grads in spring 2016. ……/2 -2- Graduation Requirements: A reminder that students who wish to participate in the Grad Ceremonies must meet all requirements of the Sa-Hali Secondary Graduation Commencement Policy below: Graduation Commencement Policy Grade 12 students must meet the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the school Commencement (Graduation) Ceremony: By May 15th of their Grade 12 year, students must be passing (50% or higher mark) or have passed the courses required to fulfill BC Ministry of Education Graduation Requirements. By May 15th of their Grade 12 year, students must have successfully completed a minimum of 75% of any distance delivery (correspondence or on-line) course that is required to fulfill BC Ministry of Education Graduation Requirements. By May 25th of the year of Commencement, the list of students eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony will be finalized. This policy may be found in the Sa-Hali Secondary Student Agenda and on the school website. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All outstanding enhancement fees and/or lost library books/Grad fees and misc. fees must be paid before the Grad Commencement gown is given to the Graduating Student. If you are unsure of what is outstanding, please come to the office to pick up your account statement. GRAD DINNER/DANCE & SAFE GRAD 2016 INFORMATION IMPORTANT DATES; POINSETTA FUNDRAISER Our first fundraiser of the year starts on November 2, 2015. Order forms are attached to this newsletter.
