THE G-SHOT® / G-SPOT AUGMENTATION WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE? The G-shot® is a painless procedure, often performed in the office, using local anesthesia. It is used to augment the G-spot in the anterior vagina in order to enhance or assist those women who have a blunted or non-existent response in acquiring vaginally mediated orgasm. HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?: The injection usually takes less than 10 seconds with total time in the exam room being less than 15 minutes. HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE? A speculum exam is used to assist in the delivery of a specified amount of human engineered collagen directly into the anterior vagina and G-spot after local anesthesia is applied. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? The injection results in a G-spot about 2.5cm in width and 0.4cm in projection into the vagina. The effect of enhanced sexual arousal/ orgasm potential may last up to 4 months in 87% of women according to one study. WHAT INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD I ANTICIPATE?: Arrive as you would for a routine gynecologic exam. If there is a concern of vaginal infection or menses, please inform the physician ahead of time as the injection may need to be rescheduled. Once checked in, you will need to undress from the waist down. A speculum will be inserted into the vagina and the area of injection cleansed with soap. The injection will last up to 15 seconds with a 10-15 minute observation period afterward to ensure tolerance of the injection. You may return to your usual routine afterwards. No intercourse for 48 hours to allow the collagen to assimilate in the vagina.
