Many healthcare positions as well as positions in social agencies, schools, and some industries recognize the
importance of having staff complete and renew yearly basic life support skills. This course is designed to prepare the
healthcare oriented students and other interested individuals to recognize and act in select emergency situations
requiring first aid and/or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Utilizing American Heart Association guidelines,
students will demonstrate healthcare provider CPR and obstructed airway techniques on adults, children, and infants.

This course provides the student training in CPR/AED and first aid for the professional
rescuer on adults, children, and infants. Upon successful completion of the course, the
