We are changing the name from Field Studies in Sociology to a more accurate description
Practicum in Sociology.
9. Please provide a concise, yet comprehensive, statement that explains the reasons for requesting
the change. Include documentation or assessment information supporting the specific request (if possible).
The UCO policy group has recently defined field study in such a way that it no longer fits the type
of experience we are requiring of our majors. Practicum is a better fit with the experience this
course provides to the students.
