Compact & Fluorescent Bulbs
Where can I Recycle CFL & Fluorescent
Bulbs?
Wal-Mart, Napoleon, OH: Customers can
simply bring in any unbroken 4’ and CFL
bulbs to the customer service desk in the
front of the store. There is no charge for this
service.
The Home Depot Store: Customers can
simply bring in any expired unbroken CFL
bulbs, place them in a plastic bag and
deposit them both in collection unit.
Customers will be able to locate the CFL
receptacle on the front end of the store near
the entrance. More information is available

Lowe’s: in introducing a new recycling
center to allow customers to recycle
rechargeable batteries, CFLs, cell phones
and plastic shopping bags in one centralized
location. The bins can be found near the
entrance of Lowe’s stores across the U.S.

Environmental Recycling: Located at 527
East Woodland Circle; Bowling Green, OH,
1-800-284-9107. There is a charge for all
bulbs. Call for current prices.
If recycling is not an option, bulbs can be
disposed of in your daily trash if placed in
two plastic bags and disposed of one at a
time.
What is Recyclable?
Metal household items like beverage
cans and steel or tin cans. Just rinse and
recycle.
Cardboard: Remove all non-cardboard
packing material. No wax-coated boxes,
milk cartons, or containers with metal
ends or rings.
Plastics: Look at the bottom of the
container. Only those with #1 or #2 no
color, #2 with color, including white.
Only plastic items that are thinner at the
top than at bottom. Remove lids, caps and
covers.
Newspapers: Stack into paper grocery
bags or tie into bundles. No plastic bags,
wet paper, magazines, catalogs, or phone
books.
Magazines, catalogs, and phone
books: Place in paper bags. No plastic
bags. Not accepted at all sites.
Glass Jars and Bottles: Clear glass
only. No brown or green glass. Remove
all lids, no window glass, ceramic or
Pyrex glass, china, dishes, light bulbs, or
mirrors.
GENERAL RECYCLING GUIDELINES:
No oil or anti-freeze containers.
Remove all lids, caps, or covers.
No Styrofoam, including egg
cartons.
Separate materials in advance.
Place materials in proper location
No Plastic Bags
No Pools or pool covers.
Buy Recycled!!
Thanks to you, recycling is successful in
Henry County. We must continue to do
an excellent job of recycling to continue
this program. WE DARE NOT LET UP.
Also, we need to purchase items made
from recycled content materials. It is very
simple. Look for the highest percentage of
post-consumer content on the label.
Here are a few examples of items that can
be made from recycled material:
Paper Products: Writing and typing
paper, envelopes, paper towels, bath
and facial tissue, paper board boxes.
Steel Products: Steel is the most recycled
material we have.
Container Glass.
Aluminum Beverage Cans
Plastic Bottles: Look on the label.
Others: Sleeping bags, carpet, shoes,
insulation, motor oil, pencils, tile, rulers,
mats. This list is never-ending.
