C.R.E.W. Participation Standards:
1.) Upon receipt of enrollment in the 3-month C.R.E.W. program, the participant agrees to purchase
the assigned text immediately and follow the reading assignments as assigned. Title, author,
ISBN, and any other pertinent edition/translation information will be given. Participants can
purchase their text anywhere that is convenient for them.
2.) All participants will be sent an invitation by email from the moderator from ASLIN/CREW at
google groups and are required to accept the invitation to join google groups. Follow the
instructions given in the invitation email and link to complete the simple joining process. Any
email can be used, not only gmail addresses. All on-line assignments and discussions are posted
in this forum. If you have never used google groups, it is a very user-friendly, self-explanatory
public posting forum lead and supervised by a moderator.
3.) All participants agree to complete all reading assigned, post all listed assignments including
discussion response posings on google groups, as listed in the syllabus.
4.) C.R.E.W. coursework is not graded, and so the quality of the work is not examined by the
moderator; however, C.R.E.W. participants agree to use academic-level writing skills, which
means no abbreviations, proper capitalization and sentence/paragraph formatting, with a clear use
of language for all writing assignments so that all participants can understand each other clearly.
5.) C.R.E.W. participants agree to be respectful at all times during discussions on-line and in their
writing assignments, refraining from the use of profanity or any statements that are intended to
offend or discriminate anyone, on any level of race, religion, socio-economic status, sexual
orientation, age, gender, etc. If an unintentional offense if made and pointed out by a coparticipant, C.R.E.W. participants are expected to make a statement of apology and move onto the
relevant discussion. No group responses or discussions will stem from this type of incident.
6.) If a participant does not complete all assigned coursework in the program by the due dates listed,
or makes postings instead that are not at all related to the writing assignment listed in the syllabus,
the moderator will send out one email to remind participants of their responsibilities to the
program. If the participant misses one more assignment, or posts another response not in
accordance with the syllabus, a second email will be sent, explaining the infraction, and warning
that the participant’s full credit CEU’s are in jeopardy. This second warning email will require a
response within 72 hours in order to continue in the program. If no response is made by the
participant, or a third assignment is missed or misrepresented, a final email will be send to the
participant, dismissing them from the current C.R.E.W quarter, with all enrollment fees forfeited
and no CEUs earned.
7.) Upon completion of the 3-month C.R.E.W. quarter, ASLIN will email each participant a
certificate of completion and post CEUs to RID on-line within 30 days after the end of the quarter
cycle.
