LEXINGTON TEACHER APPRECIATION SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION The Lexington Community Foundation has established a scholarship for teachers from the Lexington Teacher Appreciation Fund. Scholarships of at least $250 each will be awarded to Lexington Public School (LPS) professionals planning to attend an accredited college for continuing education. At least one scholarship could be awarded to a paraprofessional for continuing education toward a teaching degree. QUALIFICATIONS Consideration for the scholarship will be given to any LPS teacher who has a signed contract for the upcoming school year or qualified paraprofessional. Strong applicants have demonstrated leadership, qualities of good character, financial need and participation in extra-curricular and community activities. First priority will be given to applicants who reside in the Lexington Public School district. INSTRUCTIONS Each applicant should submit a completed application no later than May 15th. The application packet should include: 1. the completed application page; 2. statement of career objectives, including financial need statement; 3. resume listing extra-curricular and community activities; The completed application must be submitted to the Lexington Community Foundation by May 15, 2013.
