Constitution Guidelines: Name: Verrado Skills Team
Verrado Skills USA is a student organization that provides leadership, citizenship and professional development
experiences to students through integrated activities. Verrado Skills USA is dedicated to building champions for
America’s workforce. Verrado Skills USA is the only organization run for and by students in technical skilled and
service careers. Student involved in Verrado Skill USA will develop skills that will not only help them get a job, but to be
successful in a career. Integrated Verrado Skills USA with a technical skill training program enhances the training
program’s relevance to students. The goals of Verrado Skills USA are built around advocacy, member services,
marketing, and training. Additionally preparing our students to become responsible citizens
Preamble
We, the students of Verrado High School, do hereby establish and uphold our constitution and the responsibilities that
follow in order to promote and sustain the utmost quality to our program in unity with Skills USA to obtain our
educational objectives.
Article II: Club Membership
Grades
 All student members must have and maintain a 2.0 GPA
 All Students must maintain passing grades throughout each semester.
Disciple
 All student members must have and good standing with minimal non violent discipline records
 All Students must maintain respect and good standing in each of their classes.
Participation
 All student members attend meetings unless excused by the advisor
 All Students must maintain respectful and participate actively in all meetings
Article III: Club Officers
Section 1.01 Skills USA Body Executive Board (Officers):
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer,
Section 1.02 Business and Rights of Skills USA:
Members of the Executive Board shall possess the right to vote in sessions and to participate in all activities, providing
that all qualifications specified on this constitution have been met.
Section 1.03 Officers:
President:
 To be a voting member of Executive Board.
 To conduct (e.g. call to order and preside over) all legislative meetings.
 To set agenda and preside over the meetings.
 To call any special meetings
 Formulate the agenda for all meetings and special meetings with the assistance of the executive board.
 To see that all officers carry out their duties.
 To represent Verrado at all necessary functions
 To serve on committees if deemed necessary by the Executive Board.
Vice President:
 To be a voting member of Executive Board.
 To assume all the powers and duties of the Student Body President in his/her absence.
 To assist the President.
Secretary:
 To be a voting member of Executive Board
 To keep an accurate record of the minutes of the legislative meetings
 To notify members of all appropriate, regular, and special meetings
 To receive and file standing committee reports
 To keep an accurate file of all Student work
 To serve on or as chair of a committee if deemed necessary by Executive Board

Treasurer
 To be a voting member of Executive Board
 To serve on or as chair of a committee if deemed necessary by Student body Vice President
 To keep an accurate record of funds
 To give a report, when necessary at business meetings of expenditures and income of all activities,
 To advise all expenditures and income
Article IV: Selection of Officers
Term of Office and Qualifications for Members
Article II: Club Membership Officer Elections and the Appointee process
 The candidate can not be failing any classes at the time of submitting their petition to run.
 The candidate must have the Assistant principal approve their candidacy by verifying there were no major
disciplinary acts in the student’s file at/during the pervious school year.
All candidates are required to give a speech to their respective electorate regardless if running unopposed
Can not talk bad about other candidates/school
Campaigning
 Campaigning for office will begin at a date and time designated by the advisor. No posters are to be hung
before the date and time.
 Only posters approved by the advisor will be allowed to be hung
 The number of sizes of posters are limited as follows
o 1) 5 full sized poster boards
o 2) 10-8.5 x 11 posters (just be hung and can not be handed out)
o 3) No Banners
 No food, beverages, or candy may be handed out.
 No Balloons or stickers may be handed out
 Failure to follow rules will result in disqualification.
 Voting will conclude at the end of the lunch period.
 Elections and voting will be held during lunch at a public spot announced during the week.

Article V: Nominations and Elections of Officers

Article VI: Meetings
 Meetings will be conducted each quarter reporting period.
Article VII: Removal from Office
 Any unlawful act or discipline issue will be reviewed on an individual basis by: Governing board and Advisor.
Article VIII: Amendments
 All proposed must be submitted to the executive board and must be passed by a majority vote before placed
on the Student Government agenda.
 The proposed amendment will be presented to the administration for discussion.
