Accountability Profile – Project Manager (Fixed Term) Salary £23,500 per annum pro rata Band 6 Purpose To provide operational management for allocated Royal Armouries capital projects ensuring delivery to agreed budget and timescale to a high quality. To support and deputise for the Head of Creative Programmes in the delivery of departmental objectives. Key Tasks To project manage a portfolio of allocated capital projects including: o Manage the delivery of all associated project work packages including: start-up and project initiation; planning; design; delivery and implementation; project close and lessons learnt o Co-ordination of the project management process including administering projects to Prince 2 standards o Manage project budgets within the set parameters of the Museum’s financial governance o Ensure effective communication with relevant internal and external stakeholders and museum management o Project governance including the facilitation of project meetings and reporting to Project Board o Matrix management of any assigned project team members To represent the Creative Programmes department at internal and external meetings as required To perform such other duties as are commensurate with the post People Create the conditions to permit project team members to deliver their objectives Develop project teams and individuals to fully utilise their talent Relationships Cultivate internal relationships that cross team boundaries and demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with all team members Maintain and build partnerships with relevant external contacts and museum partners Budgets and Resources Spend within budget ensuring value for money 1 Reduce operational costs and maximise resources whilst maintaining standards of products and services Policies and Procedure Comply with H&S legislation To ensure tendering for contracts complies with procurement policies Adhere to organisational policies and procedures to protect people and the museum’s reputation Personal Responsibilities Work flexibly to meet the needs of the team Work as part of a team and support colleagues Protect the reputation of museum Demonstrate the museum’s values Functional Expertise Use specialist knowledge and expertise to achieve the delivery of Royal Armouries objectives and targets Disclosure A Police Check and other security checks will be requested in the event of a successful application. Reporting Structure This post reports to the Head of Creative Programmes. The postholder will also be required to work in conjunction with crossdepartmental project teams through matrix management and report at a senior level though a Programme Board system. Hours This is a fixed term position to 31st July 2014, working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required.
