Winter Whirl is this Saturday, 9:00 pm-12:00 pm. The cost is $5 per person payable only at
the door. If a student wants to bring a date from another high school, they must sign up their
date in the office by Friday.
There will be a free dental clinic for kids ages 3-18 on Feb. 6 from 8:00-12:00 at four dental
offices in the area. See the flyer on 1/22 Announcements and G-N website for details.
ATHLETICS
Congratulations to the Tiger Paws dance team for receiving the Super Sweepstakes award
for high scores on all 3 routines they performed at their first appearance MA competition on
Saturday!! They received a choreography and technique award for each routine, as well!!
Way to go ladies!!
JV boys lost at Pella 53-41.
Saturday's 9th Grade "A" Game: Grinnell defeated Albia 73-32.
9th Basketball @ Pella (1/26): "A" Game Grinnell 58 Pella 52; "B" Game Grinnell 9 Pella 24.
The Grinnell Sure Shots trap shooting team is having organizational meetings starting
February 7th at the Drake Library. The team is a club sport that is open to students 6th
through 12th grade. See flyer on bulletin board by senior lounge.
COUNSELING OFFICE
The Grinnell Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Healthcare Career Scholarship will award
graduating seniors who will pursue an education in the healthcare field. Deadline is March
13.
The Key Cooperative Community Scholarship will award 12 graduating high school seniors
from the area with a $1000 scholarship. Your parent or guardian needs to be a Class A or
Class B member of Key Cooperative, have a minimum GPA of 2.65, plan to enroll in a fulltime undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four year college, university, or
vocational-technical school, and major in an agricultural or ag-business field, animal science,
communications, information systems, accounting, auto/truck repair, carpentry or masonry
construction. Deadline is April 3.
The Grinnell-Newburg Education Association (GNEA) Scholarship is awarded to graduating
seniors who are a son/daughter of a GNEA member. Any qualifying student who will be
enrolling in a vocational, 2 year or 4 year institution may apply. Deadline is April 10.
CLUBS/ACTIVITIES
FCCLA will be pre-selling valentines during lunch this week, Tuesday through Friday.
Valentines will be delivered to seminars on Wednesday, February 11th. There will be 3
styles sold at $1.00 each and one style sold for $3.50. Stop by during your lunch to purchase
those valentines for your special people! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the
Tiger Back Pack campaign in the elementary schools.
