SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP 2014
The Imagine Grinnell Service Scholarship is intended to encourage civic
engagement by youth, and to recognize high school students for outstanding
service to their communities and neighbors. Research indicates that students
benefit more from sustained service activities than one-time service projects. In
keeping with the foundation’s mission, students who have committed service in
following areas: environment, outdoor recreation, biking, and alternative energy
are encouraged to apply. Preference may be given to students demonstrating
service work in the Grinnell area, although students demonstrating service work
addressing the myriad national and international needs beyond Grinnell are
certainly encouraged to apply. The amount of Imagine Grinnell Service
Scholarship is $500, to be used for college expenses.
