3 Versions of the List of the Online Recordings of 61 Songs The name after the song’s title is the performer’s name. The second version of the list doesn’t include the performer’s name. If the recording isn’t sung (i.e., doesn’t have lyrics), the word “instrumental” is inside brackets after the title in the second version of the list. If I have some text that teaches the song’s lyrics, there is an asterisk before the song’s title in the second version of the list. That teaching text is either a version of the lyrics that replaces one word (or two words) per line with a blank or this incomplete version of the lyrics plus a set of questions (like homework questions) that teach the meaning of the lyrics. Most of those questions are for ESL students and some are for both ESL students and native speakers of English. If you want any of those texts from me (during this semester, for academic credit, or any time in the future, for pleasure), just let me know. The third version of the list includes the title of the recording’s CD (or LP), after the performer’s name. If the Media Center has that CD, there is an asterisk before the song’s title in the third version of the list. If two album titles (separated by a period) are given for an asterisked song, the first is the song’s original album (CD or LP) and the second is the one that the Media Center has. If the songwriter isn’t the performer (or one of the performers) or anonymous, the name of the songwriter is given in the Information line that appears when the mp3 file is opened. If your audio program doesn’t automatically display that Information line when the mp3 file is open, you can make it appear on a Macintosh by typing “i” while holding down the Command (Apple) key.
