Lewisville ISD Outdoor Learning Area (LISDOLA) Receives
Keep Texas Beautiful Youth and Educator Award
(Lewisville, Texas) – Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) announced LISDOLA (Lewisville ISD
Outdoor Learning Area) as a winner of the 2015 Sadie Ray Graff Educator Award on
Monday, May 18, 2015. The Sadie Ray Graff Educator Award is one of twelve categories in
the Keep Texas Beautiful Youth & Educator Awards and recognizes those in the field of
education who encourage or demonstrate efforts to promote the KTB mission through
environmental education. Each year, Keep Texas Beautiful recognizes the efforts of young
people, educators and educational institutions that promote beautification, waste reduction and
litter prevention through environmental education and community activism.
LISDOLA received this award for the outstanding watershed model located in the
outdoor Earth's Resources Park at LISDOLA. This highly interactive model increases
participants' knowledge of surface water flow, challenges thinking about water pollution,
and promotes water conservation actions. This unique watershed model was built with
the efforts of Elm Fork Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists and LISDOLA staff. View
watershed model and learn about Lewisville ISD environmental learning program at LISD
Environmental Education.
LISDOLA and all Award winners will be recognized at the June 16 awards luncheon during
the 48th Annual KTB Conference, Blazing Trails for a Beautiful Texas Conference at the Omni
Hotel in Ft. Worth, Texas. A full list of award winners can be found at www.ktb.org.
