Activity Title: Target Level: Target Grammar Point / Theme: Activity Type: Time: Materials: Instructions: Can Anyone Hear Me? JHS 2 New Horizon 2, Let’s Read 3, pp. 90-93. Second year grammar revision. Listening, Writing and Reading 30 minutes Original version (Japanese): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgWOHzp_T-EE nglish version (English): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKTmTtIwvfA 1. Preview: Play the Japanese version of the clip to students. Have students write a list of words they think they will hear in the English version. Play the English version with no sound after one minute. 2. View: Play the English version with sound. Get students to circle the words they predicted and heard. 3. Post viewing: Listening to the audio of the English version or reading from the textbook, students number the sequence of dialogue and complete a gap fill exercise. There are two separate versions of this exercise. Both have images that help the student match the dialogue to the missing words. The first version should take less time because it Comments: directs students further by giving them the first letter of each missing word. The second loses this feature. * This is an unlisted video resource with captioning. As it is unlisted, be sure to either download it prior to class or have the address with you.
