FIRST CIRCULAR
Russian Palynological Commission, Institute of Geology and Institute of
Biology, Komi Science Centre, Ural Division of Russian Academy of Sciences
will hold from September, 5 till September, 8, 2011 the 13 th Russian
Palynological conference with participation of foreign experts. The conference will
take place in Syktyvkar in Institutes of Geology and Biology, Komi Science Centre,
Ural Division of Russian Academy of Sciences.
Main goal of the conference - wide exchange of opinions on the most
actual and debatable issues of fundamental and applied tasks of modern
palynology, presentation and discussion of the newest results of palynological,
complex paleobotanic and interdisciplinary researches, innovative methodical
developments.

Main workstreams of the conference:
1. Biology, morphology, classification and taxonomy of spores and pollen.
Palynology in phylogenetic researches.
2. Methodical issues: new laboratory methods of palynology, advanced
interpretations of palynological results.
3. Applied palynology: aeropalynology, melissopalynology, archeologic
palynology, judicial palynology, palynology as habitat indicator.
4. Cenozoic palynology: stratigraphy, paleogeography, sedimentation,
climate and vegetation.
5. Mesozoic palynology: stratigraphy, paleogeography, sedimentation,
climate and vegetation.
6. Paleozoic and Precambrian palynology: stratigraphy, paleogeography and
sedimentation.
7. Algoflora. Diatomic analysis and other microalgae in paleoecology,
bioindications, biostratigraphy.
8. Palynology as the tool of wide interregional correlation of marine and
continental deposits. Palynological data in correlation stratigraphic maps.
9. Botany and paleobotany. Plant community on the boundaries of the
largest biospheric rebuilds according to palynological data.
Application forms for participation in conference in the form of the
questionnaire are to be sent till January 20, 2011. Please send the questionnaire to
the Organizing Committee. If not answered, please, send the questionnaire for the
second time. The Preliminary program of the conference will be composed by the
organizing committee after reception of applications. Please, pay attention that the
second circular of the conference will be sent to those potential participants, who
sent registration forms with themes of declared reports.
Proceedings of the conference are to be published. One personal
publication and one in co-authorship is supposed. Volume of article is no more

than 6 pages А4 with graphics. Manuscripts in digital form are to be sent not
later April 15, 2011. This term is unlikely to be changed due to technical
opportunities of publishing department of Institute of Geology of Komi SC UD
RAS.
The planned registration fee for participants from Russia and countries of
former Soviet Union - 800 roubles, for foreign participants - $200. The fees will be
directed to publish the proceedings of conference.
Deadlines:
December 2010 - first circular.
January 20, 2011 - preliminary registration (to make the program and
include in the list of the second circular and program).
February, 2011 - second circular with information about planned sections
and their supervisors, requirements to registration of manuscripts for publication.
Bank requisites and list of hotels in Syktyvkar will be presented.
April 15, 2011 – deadline for presentation of articles for the proceedings.
September 4 - arrival of participants of the conference.
September 5-8 – period of the conference.
