CADDYSHACKERS GOLF LEAGUE
RULES 2014 SEASON
1. You must sign in on the Caddyshackers “sign-in” sheet found in the Pro Shop to verify that you played
on Monday. This is essential for participation in any of the contest or the skin game.
2. You must play with another league member and have your score attested to by that league member.
This is a must! No Singles!
3. All putts must be putted out. (No gimmies)
4. Winter rules apply to our league. All rules as listed on the scorecard are also in effect. The Rules
Committee, based on the current USGA rules will settle any dispute. A player may reposition his own ball
with club head anywhere within six (6) inches.
5. A limit of seven(7) strokes over par shall be the maximum score for any one hole, however, all holes must
be played out.
6. A ball lying in a hazard (sand trap, etc.) will not be touched or moved in any way, unless it lies in casual
water or ground under repair. The ball must be dropped in the hazard no closer to the hole; if the hazard
is completely under water, then drop no closer to the hole behind the hazard to ensure that the hazard is
between the ball and the flag.
7. A ball lying in or on an immovable obstruction such as benches, signs, casual water, pumps, watering
equipment, fences, etc. may be dropped (not nearer the hole) two club lengths with no penalty. If a lie is
considered unplayable, relief may be gained by going back along the line of flight with a penalty of one (1)
stroke. Any lost ball, fairway, hazard or rough, is a loss of one (1) stroke.
8. Holes #8 and #11 will be played as a yellow hazard.
9. If a ball is hit out of bounds, the player will drop a ball, under penalty of one (1) stroke within two (2) club
lengths of the place where the ball last crossed the course boundary line. However, if this would require
dropping a ball in a hazard, the player may drop a ball outside the hazard line where the ball was hit, but
not nearer the hole. NO provisional ball will be allowed.
10. Rainouts will be determined by the golf course. If the course is open, a score card will be required and
you will have until the following Monday to make up. If the course is closed, no card will be required.
11. Hole #15 – If a ball is hit into the rough area to the right of the 100 yard marker on #15 faiway a free drop
is allowed. Follow the USGA Rule #25 (Abnormal Ground Conditions).
In cases where you must play some time other than Monday, you must play with at least one (1) other member of
our golf league to verify your score. The names of both players must be turned in. PLEASE INDICATE WHICH
PLAYER IS MAKING UP AND THE DATE FOR THE WEEK YOU’RE MAKING UP! You will have until Monday of the
following week to make up your league play, regardless of which nine holes you are playing. Again, the
scorecard must be dated for the week you’re making up; also, the scorecard must be placed in the drop-off box
in the Pro Shop. If you cannot drop it in the box, please contact the secretary as soon as possible. Do not leave
the card with any employee at the golf course. Your score will not count if it is not in the box or you haven’t
contacted the league secretary.
If you are 70 years old by April 1st, of the current season you may play from the Gold Tees. 80 years & older can
play from the Red TeesThe players playing from the Gold Tees will be in separate divisions. BOWLING No
changes once the league has started.
Any questioned situations not mentioned specifically in the rules will be referred to the Rules Committee for a
final decision. Rule infringements must be reported within 24 hours of the infraction.
REMINDER: Each golfer is responsible for their score being turned in. Always check to make sure that the golfer
keeping score turns the card in. In past seasons, some scorecards were taken home by the golfer keeping score
and then all golfers in that group were penalized for not having a score. This affects the SKINS contest and the
points awarded. No call will be made to golfers for missing scorecards.
ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE CARDS IN THE CADDYSHACKER BOX ONLY!!!!
