JAPANESE  ENGLISH & DANISH TRANSLATOR
Trilingual Japanese with more than 21 years of professional experience in translation
between Japanese and English within a broad range of business and industry-related
subjects, in particular IT, mobile technology, electronic/electrical and general engineering,
automobile, and medical-related matters, as well as marketing, website localization, patents
(information only), annual business reports, technical/trend surveys, academic papers etc.
Gained experience by working in two translation companies in Japan, living in the U.S. for
a total of 7 years (studying at university and teaching Japanese in addition to translating),
obtaining a Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and
managing a successful translation business in Denmark for 15 years, thereby dealing
with three languages on a daily basis making my work accurate, fast and of high quality.
Cooperation with an English checker. Translation volume of at least 3000 words a day on
average facilitated by an up-to-date hardware/software translation environment, including
Microsoft Office 2010 and SDL TRADOS Studio 2014. Will work as interpreter, software
localizer, bridge between Japanese/Danish branches for Danish companies as consultant as
well. Recently started offering translation among Japanese, English and Danish.
EDUCATION:
August 1990 - June 1992: Oklahoma City University, Master of Education in TESOL

April 1980 - March 1984: The University of Tsukuba, BA in Fine Art
April 1977 - March 1980: Fukuyama High School Associated with the University of

Highlight of my activities in 2013:
Stayed in San Diego, California, from September 2012 to April 2013. I collaborated

American ways of doing translation businesses as well as their language usage, culture,
etc. Main project included Website localization for a British casino provider into
Japanese.
Danish: I have lived in Denmark for 15 years now and speak Danish as a daily
language. My number of Danish clients is steadily increasing; I am dealing with
translations of patents, business documents, family registries, etc. for a wide variety of
clients, including both direct clients, such as an internationally renowned medical
equipment company, and other translation companies. Although the translation
requests are mostly Japanese to English, Danish to Japanese translation requests are
also increasing.
Japanese: My enthusiasm and love of my country will never die. I keep up with major
movements in Japan, i.e., politics, industry, culture, etc., on daily basis. Therefore, I
am confident that I am familiar with actual Japanese conditions and my Japanese will
