The following standards must be met:
1.
Attend all scheduled practices and meets. Those practices or meets that an athlete cannot attend must be cleared through the coach in advance.
2. In addition to attending all scheduled practices and meets, an athlete must earn 15 varsity points to be considered for a varsity letter in winter track.
Scoring in a meet:
Place top 6 in a varsity race is worth the value of the place.
Place top 6 in a JV race is worth half the value of the place.
(6 place is worth 1 pt = 0.5 varsity points)
Place top 6 in a Frosh/Soph race is worth half the value of the place.
(6 place is worth 1 pt = 0.5 varsity points)
Relay points are divided by the number of people in the relay
County, Conference, and Sectional championships are worth double.
Group championships are worth triple.
Athletes will divide all relay points earned evenly.
Every athlete will earn 1 point for every meet they compete in.
2 points for every County Relay, County Championship,
State Relay, or State Sectional Championship meet.
3.
An athlete must earn minimum of 15 points through out the winter track season to be eligible for a varsity letter.
4.
Coach’s have the final say in evaluating an athlete’s qualification for a varsity letter.
The coaching staff reserves the right to award varsity letters at their discretion.
