This is a very short half term and there are many events in the diary to keep us busy, alongside all of our usual learning intentions. Good news We had an HMI visit (Her Majesty’s Inspector) just before half term and he was very pleased with our progress towards a ‘good’ judgement at the next Ofsted and he commented on the good attitude to learning shown by the children and the impact that our enlivened classroom environments have on learning. Well done to our staff and children. Works have begun on the Y5 extension – the old Walkers Cabin and shelter have come down already and the footings are in for the new classroom. Recent charitable events have resulted in large donations to various organisations. Our children and families always respond well and it is important that our children see how they have a role in supporting elements of our society that may not be as fortunate as themselves. We have sent £487 to Great Ormond Street Hospital from Jeans for Genes day. £538 to MacMillan from the coffee morning. £164 to Save the Children from Christmas Jumper Day. Thank you. Our Year Six children attended a matinee of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in London this week – ahead of their version of the show in July 2015. I am proud to say that their behaviour was exemplary and everyone was collected on time. Again, thank you. KS2 Michael Morpurgo Quiz Competition Winners I am pleased to announce that the winners were: Daniel Choy, Alexandra Munteanu, Khusi Dharel, Ruwaida Shahul-Hameed ,Renata Gurung. These children will receive a book prize. Well done As a school we are very proud of our smart uniform and standards of presentation. From our check on uniform this week I am happy to report that only 4 children were not in uniform and they were provided with spares to wear that day. Thank you for supporting us.
