Students and Staff: SHS – BPA students were “shooting for success” yesterday in Shelby, OH. SHS dominated the Region 7
officer elections by securing four of the six officer positions. Lucas Widman was elected Vice-President; Kierra Dickerson
was elected Treasurer; Jerron Taylor was elected Historian; and Demetrius Ingram was elected Parliamentarian. Please be
sure to congratulate them as you see then today!
Students going out for a Winter Sport: If you think you might go out for wrestling, swimming, boys or girls basketball,
gymnastics, bowling or the step team, please pick up an Athletic Paper from the Athletic Office ASAP. If you want a free
physical from the school physician, the Health History/Nurse Interview form must be completed, signed by both parent and
athlete and returned to the Athletic Office by 2 PM on Thursday, October 15 th. Don’t delay, do it today.
Everyone: Do you think you’ve got talent? Then share it with us at the SHS Talent Show! The talent show is scheduled for
Thursday, October 15th and there will be cash prize for the top three acts. If interested, please sign up in Room 113 by this
Friday. No additional acts will b accepted after 3:15 PM on Friday.
Seniors: Are you looking forward to an awesome All Night party? Well guess what, it’s not free and everyone needs to step
up and do their part! Please mark your calendar for Wednesday, October 14 th. There will be a class meeting after school in
Room 113 and you will receive information for our latest fundraiser. We have the potential of earning a lot of money if the
senior class gets involved. There will also be free samples available for tasting. Please make it a priority to attend!
Talent Show Contestants: There will be a mandatory rehearsal after school on Monday, October 12 th in the auditorium. The
rehearsal will run from 3:10 PM until approximately 4:30 or 5:00 PM. If you do not show for the rehearsal, you will not be
included in the talent show on Thursday.
All Students & Staff: The Sandusky Community Foundation is holding a can food drive this week at Sandusky High School,
in conjunction with our own volunteerism program. Students and staff are encouraged to make donations to help those less
fortunate in our community. For those students who have received Saturday School for tardies or cell phones on October
10th, 17th or 24th, a donation of 15 cans of food will serve as your community service commitment for this week and excuse
you from serving your Saturday School. Only one Saturday School may be eliminated by donation. Canned food donations
must be brought to the conference room next to the Main Office in the morning where they will be counted and listed under
your name. Assistant Principals will then remove those who qualify from the Saturday School list. Donations will be
accepted Tuesday through Friday this week. If you have any questions, please see Logan Farrar, Isra Forney or Mr.
Matheny.
Everyone: Tickets to the talent show will be available for purchase during lunch next week. The pre-sale price is $4 and the
door price is $5.
College Bound Juniors: Sign up today in the Guidance Office for the October 14 th PSAT practice College entrance exam for
$13.
All Girls Interested in Basketball: Please pick up physical packets ASAP in the AD’s office. You must have physicals up to
date before try outs.
All Students and Staff: UBS will be having our annual sucker sale beginning Tuesday, 10/6. We will only have sweet
suckers to sell at this time. See any UBS member to buy a sucker. Suckers are $.50 each.
Baseball: Anyone interested in playing baseball this season, please attend a mandatory meeting this Wednesday, October 7 th
right after school in the cafeteria. I will be passing out paperwork and also a conditioning schedule. Even if you can’t stay,
please come to sign up and grab your paperwork. The meeting should only last 15 minutes.
Everyone: There will be an informational meeting for anyone interested in bowling this winter on October 5th at 3:45 PM in
the cafeteria. Please plan to attend and pick up necessary paperwork to be eligible for try-outs on November 15th.
Attention participants of the Team Focus Last Year: There will be a meeting on Wednesday, October 7 th at Ontario School at
6:00 PM.
Attention All Students and Staff: Today in Athletics we have the following events scheduled: The Golf team travels to
Thunderbird for the Sectional Tournament at 9:45 AM; and the Girls Soccer Team travels to Norwalk for a 7:00 PM game.
