Southcoast’s President’s Award for Excellence is awarded to 13 individuals who demonstrate an outstanding effort in delivering quality customer service, having a positive attitude and working as team players. The recipients were announced Tuesday, December 11, at the combined annual meetings of Southcoast Health System and Southcoast Hospitals Group by Ronald B. Goodspeed, MD, MPH, President of Southcoast Hospitals Group. “The President's Award is special because the nominations come from co-workers, the people who work side-by-side with the President's Award recipients to deliver the best possible patient care,” Dr. Goodspeed said. “Winners exemplify accomplishing outstanding results while integrating the Southcoast cultural elements: quality and caring, integrity and trust, and adaptability and flexibility into the job they do and service they provide each day.” This year 112 individuals were nominated and many of them received multiple nominations. The President's Award committee, which is comprised of employees from all three hospitals, had the difficult task of selecting the 13 individual winners. The criteria set forth by the committee ask that each winner role model the Southcoast cultural elements and service priorities in the daily course of their work. Those Southcoast cultural elements are: Quality and Caring in the context of fiscal constraints; Integrity, Openness and Trust across departments, levels and sites, and Adaptability and Flexibility while honoring our legacy organizations. The Southcoast service priorities are Safety, Compassion, Efficiency and Above & Beyond. -more- 2007 Southcoast President’s Award for Excellence Winners December 19, 2007 Page 2 of 3 2007 Southcoast President’s Award for Excellence winners: (by hometown and in alphabetical order) Acushnet (2) Ana L.
