Call for Papers The 4th Japan-China Bilateral Workshop on IFE Target Materials and Technology : Sept 21 – Sept 23, 2012 : Gifu University, Gifu http://www.gifu-u.ac.jp/ Date Place Chairpersons : Hiroki Yoshida (Gifu Univ.), Keiji Nagai (Osaka Univ.) Yongjian Tang (Research Center of Laser Fusion), Zhongze Gu (Southeast Univ.), Organizing committee: Japanese Members H. Habara (Osaka Univ.), H. Homma (Tokyo. Univ. Agr. Tech.), F. Ito (JAEA), A. Iwamoto (National Inst. Fusion Sci.), T. Iyoda (Tokyo Inst. Technol.), M. Komura (Tokyo Inst. Technol.), N. Nemoto (Nihon Univ.), T. Norimatsu (Osaka Univ.), K. A. Tanaka (Osaka Univ.) Chinese Members L. Zhang (RCLF), B. Li (RCLF), L. Ge (Southeast Univ.), X. Zhao (Southeast Univ.) Topics: 1) IFE target material and laser-plasma source materials 2) Encapsulation science and technology 3) Monolithic porous materials 4) Cryogenic target technology 5) Mass production of target 7) Photoenergy Conversion Materials 9) Surface modification, Nanoassembly 10) 11) 12) 13) Photo-functional Materials Electrochemistry Target Injection and Tracking Others Background: Target materials are key issue of the Study of Ultrahigh Density Plasma, and the section of target fabrication was opened at the 2005 Workshop on Ultrahigh Density Plasma Production, Application and theory for Laser Fusion at Nine Village Valley, Sichuan. It achieved great successes in high-level academic exchange and efficient presentation of state-of–the–art development in this research field. In order to attract greater attention and participation of more scientists in these fields, the organizing committee started to further specify and enlarge the scale of the workshop to be Japan-China Bilateral Workshop on Target Materials, 2007 in HuangShan Mountain, 2008 in Osaka, 2010 in Hailar. This year, the organizing committee decided to have the workshop in Gifu. Gifu, which was named by Oda Nobunaga during his campaign to unify all of Japan in 1567. The first character used comes from Qishan, a legendary mountain from which most of China was unified, whereas the second character comes from Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius. Nobunaga chose those characters because he wanted to unify all of Japan and he achieved it. Gifu is located near Nagoya within 20 minutes and Chubu international airport is nearest from Gifu and connects most Chinese cities. Abstracts: The science program committee will schedule both oral and poster sessions. Authors are requested to submit an extended abstract (maximum 2 pages, A4 size). The deadline of submission is August 15, 2012. Since submitted papers will be selected and classified as oral or poster presentations on the basis of the abstracts, the abstracts should be as informative as possible. It is important to note that the abstracts should be clearly printed by a laser jet with one-inch margin on each side. Language: The official language at this workshop is English.
