The history of our forefathers By: Jostein Solvoll Genealogy on the father side (Mindor Solvoll) back in time, using the father\son principle. Updated July 2007 by Jostein Solvoll. Sources used are “Sandesoga” 1 and 2, “Vanylvssoga 1, “Bygdebok for Syvde”, together with conversations with Matias Solvoll. Starts with the oldest one I could find that can be called our first ancestor. Ola Johannesson Øyra 1720 – 1817. Originally from brn. 1 Øyra (Eidså) in Vanylven council. (Vannylven is located a couple of miles south of Aalesund). He was a juryman. He was listed with the forename Ola In “Bygdebok for Syvde (Translates Country book of Syvde). From the looks of “Bygdebok for Syvde” it does not seem like Olas parents came from this farm. The traces further back stops here. The farm “Øyra” lays were the old school now is located. It is a very old farm that has been inhabited for immemorial times, maybe as far back as the Viking age. Ola was called “Stor-Ola” (Translates to Big-Ola) and was married 3 times. First with Pernille Rasmusdotter (died in 1773), thereafter with Marte Samsonsdotter (died in 1781) and finally with Pernille Andersdotter (died in 1804). I believe Ola lived in Eidså (Øyra) in the two first marriages before he moved to “Hide”. Pernille Andersdotter became a widow in 1787. She came from “Hageselle” in Gjerdsvika. She lived on the farm Br. Number 4 in Hide in Sande, and was firstly married with Steinar Jacobsen Hide (1787). (Now living user is called Gabriel Ottar Hansson Hide). It was hard finding out when Big-Ola moved to Hide, but it cant have been long after his second wife died in 1781. From his first marriage he had the son: Rasmus Olson Hide, 1751-1827 Rasmus had 4 siblings. It is likely that Rasmus grew up on Eidså, and that he moved to Hide with his father. To my understanding he overtook the running of the farm. (Br. Nr. 4 Hide) 1784-1809 Rasmus got married to Brite Steinarsdotter Hide (1761-1829) and continued to live on Br. Nr.4 Hide. Brite was dotter of Pernille Andersdotter, and father/son was consequently married with mother\dotter – a little complicated maybe. Rasmus and Brite had all in all 11 children. One of these were: Anders Rasmusson Hide (4.5 1784 – 13.12 1834) Anders was the third oldest in the crowd of children. Anders continued to live on br. Nr.4 Hide. He got married in 1810 with Siri Andersdotter Sætre, and they got 8 children. These were: Andreas Bernt 1812 –1900 Brite 1815 – 1905 Karine 1818 – 1870 Rasmus 1820 – 1911 Anna Pauline 1822 –1911 Johanne 1825 - ? Bernt Jakob 01.04 1830 – 25.05 1912 Adriane 1833 – 1911 I got very little information on Bernt Jakob. He moved to Aalesund and became a merchant according to Sandesoga. The farm Hide br. Nr.4 was in the families possession until 1894. The last user was Anders Andreasson Hide. He was married 2 times. First with Ane Jonsdotter Mo from Ørsta, and thereafter with Johanne Andereasdotter Halle. It does not look like we got now living relatives on Hide. Rasmus Anderson Hide (14.3 1820 – 15.1 1911) He got married in 1849 with Helene Martinsdotter Halle (1829 – 1907) and then moved to the farm Brn. 4 “Ytre Halle” – “Sylveigarden” in Sande. Helene was from this farm. (The farm is today owned by Sverre Harald Roppen? And is located in Hallebygda in Sande. They got a total of 2 children. One of these were: Martinus Andreas Elias Halle (12.9 1855 – 20.11.1893) Martinus got married in 1879 with Larine Eiriksdotter Nesje (1843 – 1914) from Syvde. This is consequently the parents of my grandfather in “Myrane” on Fiskå in Vannylven. In 1888 they moved to “Ytre Tunheim br. Nr. 10 – Solvoll (Myrane) and they became the first user there. The farm “Solvoll” then consisted of rough grazing and moor, and Martinus began cultivation of the new land. A work that was finished by his son and grandson. The cultivation was done by hand. Matias Solvoll (25.2 1884 – 1967) Matias and Marta lived on the farm Solvoll all their life. They got in all 5 children. They were Martin Solvoll (1912 - ), Lilly (1914-1916), Knut Solvoll (1915-1975), Lilly (1917 - ) And.. Mindor Solvoll (6.9.1920 – 1979) Mindor got married in 1943 with Anny Johannesdatter Sandanger (7.1.1920 – 1982). They first lived in “Martinaburg” in Fiskå before they in 1946 moved in to a new house on Ytre Thunheim br. Nr.18, “Solbakken”. Here they lived for the rest of their lives. They got 3 children in all: Else Marie Humberset (26.8.1943 - ) Magny Orsten (6.8.1950 - ) And.. Jostein Solvoll (22.12.1948-) Got married in 1970 with Solbjørg Sundnes from Herøy, they now live in Nedre Holen in Aalesund. They have 3 children: Karina Solvoll Bente Solvoll And.. Eirik Solvoll (19.01.1984 - )
