Continental Holds Groundbreaking for
Test Center Yancheng
• Important step that strengthens Continental’s Research &Development capacity to ma
tch robust development
in China
Shanghai/China, April 13, 2015. Continental, a leading international automotive supplie
r, breaks ground for a new test center in cooperation with China Automotive Technology
& Research Center (CATARC) in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. The new test center Yancheng
occupies 2,500 square meters, including office rooms and test workshops, which integrat
es testing facilities and Continental’s global know-how to carry out system tests and
vehicle applications on new technologies and products, for example advanced brake syste
m, high performance tire and so on. The test center Yancheng is expected to start oper
ation one year later.

pabilities, enhances our test possibilities for safety technologies and customized, hig
h quality products for the Chinese market in accordance with our strategy ‘In the Mark

ading R&D center to give fast local response and technological support to meet the div

Continental commenced its business in China in 1994. In order to better satisfy local a
nd global customers’ need, Continental has accelerated its pace of investment in China,
bringing along high quality products and excellent local R&D capabilities. Continental
has been seeking more opportunities for extending its footprint in China for further lo

ental winter test center is located in Heihe, Heilongjiang Province with a 7,000,000-sq

winter test center, the new test center in Yancheng will further complete Continental’

d technical regulation formulating, product certification testing, quality system certi
fication, industry planning and many more tasks.
