ERN can partner with teachers to teach nutrition or have incentive-based projects. Continuing School-Time Fruit Stand. Will need signature every month. Teachers’ Report from the Diplomas Now PD o Overview of how district wants new core standards incorporated into lessons. Talked about cooperative learning & strategies for working with students. Emphasized autonomy for teacher to gauge timing of lessons. Focused on vocabulary, and students using the dictionary less. Staff Handbook Updated - Still being updated. Will be distributed during the House Team Meeting. Information: Directory, Bell Schedule, Room Assignments – Shafer distributed and reviewed bell schedules. Student Rosters & IEP-at-a-Glance – Distributed to all teachers. Protocol for Absences & Early Dismissals (Staff & Students)- Call the main office & Principal Lang if you will be absent or late - consider it a professional courtesy. District is strict about time –TPER should be accurate. Professional Growth System - Lang will discuss PAR, PDP and FO in House Team Meeting. 2nd unsatisfactory rating could lead to termination. Even if you are in a PDP year, if you have unsatisfactory rating, the next step could be series of observations that will lead to recommendation of FO rating period. Back to School Night – Thursday, September 27th @ 5:30pm Technology – Teacher/Staff Responsibilities (Cammisa) - To be shared later SDP/Shaw Updates o Food Services – Ms. Massenburg shared new menu items & guidelines regarding food distribution, including: Emergency meals are limited in quantity & can only be used for real emergencies. Encourage students with special needs to bring their own lunch. Milk is not mandatory, but recommended. Encourage use of the Share Table. Requested time to speak with students about behavior expectations in the lunchroom. Communicate to minimize confusion about hold-ups. Document lateness & cuts. o Meet & Greet Your Students: Increases hallway supervision/monitoring. Decreases cuts, lateness, fights, etc. in the hall. o Junk Food: Not allowed & will be confiscated. Keep in locker. o Hall Pass/Bathroom: No students in the hall without a pass. o Escorting Students: Teachers are responsible for escorting students in a quiet, orderly manner. o Cellphones & Electronic Devices: We see it… We take it… No warnings.
