Contemporary equipment for exploration of the continental shelf deposits with regard to natural and climatic factors and water depth. Geological and hydrometeorological zoning of potential oil and gas producing areas of the Arctic shelf (freezing and ice-free seas). Surface, subsea and combined fields. Up-to-date subsea equipment and its development prospects (subsea wellhead systems, manifolds, separators, compressors, energy sources and drilling equipment).

DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF OFFSHORE PLATFORMS FOR THE

CONTINENTAL SHELF EXPLORATION

Main types of offshore engineering facilities for oil and gas exploration fields. Construction and operation of ice-resistant fixed and portable platforms. The use of deep-water fixed metal platforms and concrete platforms. Integrated ice-resistant fixed platforms.

Up-to-date transportation technologies for oil, natural gas, natural gas condensate and liquefied natural gas. Construction and operation of subsea pipelines in ice environments of the Arctic.

Development and potential of hydrocarbon marine transportation via the Northern Sea Route.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE FLEET FOR SHELF OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION

Marine fleet for oil and gas exploration on the continental shelf (various types of vessels: transport, convoy, supply, rescue, powered, construction and installation, crew transportation etc.). Modern multitask vessels for oil and gas exploration. Design, construction and operation of marine vessels in the Arctic. Development of related onshore infrastructure (onshore supply bases, oil spill response and recovery systems). Potential of Russian shipbuilding plants regarding development of the fleet for hydrocarbon exploration on the continental shelf.

NUCLEAR POWER IN THE ARCTIC REGION

Nuclear low-power plants: current situation and prospects. Key challenges in industrial and environmental safety. Development of nuclear power plants for use in the deep-sea exploration on the Arctic continental shelf. Prospects for cooperation between ROSATOM Corporation and oil and gas companies regarding oil and gas exploration on the Arctic continental shelf. Key technological requirements to power plants for the use in environments of the Arctic (portability, modularity, locality etc.)

ENVIRONMENTAL AND INDUSTRIAL SAFETY IN SHELF HYDROCARBON

EXPLORATION

Russia, Rostechnadzor, EMERCOM of Russia)

Environmental aspects of offshore oil and gas exploration in the Arctic. Special features of marine oil spill response in various climate zones. Aspects of industrial safety in hydrocarbon exploration

on the continental shelf. Air force / marine search and rescue in emergency situations. Firefighting, blowout control and other incident response methods.

IMPROVEMENT OF REGULATORY AND LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR OIL AND GAS

DEVELOPMENT ON THE RUSSIAN CONTINENTAL SHELF.
