Circle Dr., Room 316 Berkey, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824-1111. No one will be reviewed for admittance without GRE scores. Applicants should take only the general test (an indicator of general aptitude for graduate study). Application blanks and information may be obtained by writing the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey 08540. Michigan State University students may request forms from the Testing Center, 207 Student Services Building. Counseling or Testing Centers at other universities may also be able to provide information and forms. The Graduate Record Examination is given at many times and places throughout the world. While the Department of Sociology requires all applicants to take the GRE, we are aware that scores on this exam may have different meaning for people with different backgrounds. Therefore, we use it as only one indicator of potential for success in graduate study, to be considered along with all other information required from each applicant.
