Family
Born on May 26th, 1971. Married to Vilmundur Palmason, Cand. Scient. in Electronic
Engineering. Children: Asrun Osp born 1994 and Arnthor Vidir born 1997.
Skills
I have worked on and supervised many excavations using the single context planning method.
My fieldwork experience is from different sites around Iceland, in many cases involving
complex turf structures.
The excavations vary in time from a settlement longhouse and heathen burials, through
medieval time to 19th and early 20th century buildings in Reykjavik.
In post-excavation work, my skills include producing stratigraphic matrices, plan drawings,
section drawings, artifact drawings (by hand and computer), site plans as well as overall
interpretation of the research data and writing reports.
I am very experienced in Autodesk AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft
Excel and working with Total stations.
