About the Speakers Mr LAW Peng Keat, Senior Consultant of Jurong Port has more than 30 years of port and cargo management experience under his belt. He currently spearheads projects for infrastructure development, improvements in IT, operations processes and safety enhancements for general and bulk cargoes operations. Mr Law first started his maritime career with Jurong Town Corporation in the 1970s and rose to the position of Deputy Port Manager and Manager of the Finance and Administration at Jurong Port. Mr Law is a veteran in the management of port facilities and his roles have covered services marketing, berth planning, operations, facilities development and staff training. From 1990 to 2001, Mr Law served as the Senior Vice-President and Alternate Director of GATX Terminals Pte. Ltd., a leading provider of petrochemical storage and logistics services. He was responsible for directing quality initiatives, strategic planning, management reporting and overseeing various departments including Operations, Health, Safety and Environment, Engineering, Finance, IT and Human Resource. Under his able leadership, his company received accolades and achievements including the ISO 9002 certification, CIDB Gold Award for Construction Excellence for projects on expansion of berths and ancillary facilities, Singapore Quality Class for GATX Terminals, 1997, Asian Institute of Management IT Award for private sector companies amongst others. Whilst serving JTC, Mr Law was also awarded the prestigious award, the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) by then President of Singapore, Wee Kim Wee. His professional affiliations include full membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, United Kingdom (CMILT), the Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom (MCMI), Senior Member of the Association of Certified Accounting Technicians United Kingdom (CAT), and the Singapore Institute of Director (MSID). He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Malaya, a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (General Management Specialisation) from RVB, Netherlands (PSC/Dutch government scholarship), a Certificate in Port and Harbour Management, Ministry of Transport, Japan (JICA/PSC Scholarship) and a Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the Singapore Institute of Management.
