New Raman Reti Management Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Jaya Govardhana das, Krishna Kesava das, Mantrini devi dasi, Mukhya devi dasi,
Namamrita das, Radhika Raman das, Ramiya das, Ranjita das, Rasalila devi dasi, Saranga Thakura
das, Sri Vrindavana devi dasi, Tamohara das, and Visvambara das
I. Tamohara prabhu convened the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
II. Review of Minutes: Minutes from April 24, 2014, meeting were reviewed and approved. (There
was no March meeting.)
III. President’s Report: Mukhya prabhu reporting.
A. Temple Security: Hundi was broken into again last Friday night. The alarm went off and
the thief ran off. The police suggested we get a camera that will take a night photo of anything
that moves in the Temple room.
B. Report on Men’s Ashrama Building, 1,596 sq. feet, 6-bedroom with an efficiency
apartment on the side: We are still waiting for loan to clear at the Bank. Going with 2 x 6
construction will be $2,500 with extra insulation, going from 13 to 16.
IV. Creation of Board Financial Committee: Tamohara reporting. Financial oversight is one of the
duties of the NRR Management Board. It is suggested that a small committee be formed that would
decide what kind of financial reporting is needed. Kardama Muni prabhu, a CPA, has offered to help
set up some of those reports and budgets. The initial members of the committee will be Mukhya
prabhu, Ramiya prabhu, Kardama Muni prabhu, and Tamohara prabhu. Ranjita prabhu and Sri
Vrindavana were added to the committee.
V. Tithing: Rasa Lila prabhu reporting. Some ideas for community building and appreciation:
A. Documenting a history of the Temple since 1977, including when the schools came to
this community.
B. Donor and Tither Appreciation Dinner: The date was set for Saturday, November 1,
2014.
C. Monthly gifts for Tithers: Mantrini prabhu will arrange to have 6 tithers per month receive
several pieces of Mangala arati sweets (1 day divided into 6 portions). The 6 tithers will be
notified that they can pick up their sweets at the book table at the Sunday Feast. This program
will start mid June.
VI. Financial Report: Ramiya prabhu reporting.
A. Temple year-end Profit & Loss report (January through December 2013) Total income:
$545, 692; Total expenses: $543, 536; Net income: $2,166.
B. Govinda’s Gifts Profit & Loss Report: (1st quarter) January – March 2014: Total income:
$10,954; Total expenses: $7,736; Net income: $3,227.
C. Temple Profit & Loss Report (1st quarter) January – March 2014: Total income: $102,693;
Total expenses: $121, 203 ; Net income: -$18,510.
D. Sunday Feast Donations are Down: Sri Vrindavana prabhu and Radhika Raman prabhu
have agreed to call devotees to sponsor a Sunday feast for their birthday.
