Are You Ready for ICD-10?

Target Audience

This program has been planned for Behavioral healthcare clinicians, Finance, Claims,

Informational Technology and Electronic Data

Interchange personnel, MCO, and Provider employees.

Program Description

Credits

0.3 CEUs or 3.0 Contact Hours credit will be awarded to participants who attend 100% of the program. No NBCC credit will be awarded for this training.

No partial credit will be given. Individuals arriving

15 minutes or more after the starting time will not receive credit.

Beginning on October 1 2015, healthcare providers will be required to use ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes on all healthcare claims. The structure of ICD-10 codes is incredibly different from ICD-9 codes and the number of codes will increase by over four hundred percent. For those of us who work in behavioral healthcare, we have the additional challenge of coordinating DSM-5 with ICD-10. For finance and claims staff, there will also be significant changes to the 837P and 837I electronic claim files. This class will concentrate on ICD-10 coding for mental health, substance abuse and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
