Our project began in 2005 when Eastside Friends
became aware of an art therapy program in Iraq. Their
goal,” to help children deal with the trauma of war...
through art... develop self-confidence, learn the value of
working with others, and find creative and beautiful
ways of dealing with stressful situations”. The creators
of the cards share their vision.

By 2007, we found it increasingly difficult to get art
supplies into Baghdad, and contacted a program that
provides art opportunities for Iraqi refugee children in
Jordan and also, whenever possible, for children in
Iraq... “Using art to touch and connect children and
youth to one another.” Our donations now go to this
project. (http://www.iraqichildrensart.org/current.html)

We join with the adults and children connected with
these art programs in both Iraq and Jordan, praying that
all Iraqi children will soon be able to carry on with their
lives in peace, a prayer extended to children throughout
the world.
