Autism Intervention Program: McMaster Children’s Hospital
McMaster Children’s Hospital is the lead agency in the provision of the Autism Intervention
Program for the Hamilton-Niagara Region. The Ministry of Children and Youth Services provides
funding for this program. The program operates according to the Program guidelines as
established by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

McMaster Children’s Hospital subcontracts with local agencies in the Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk
and Niagara regions, to provide the Autism Intervention Program in these communities.
McMaster Children’s Hospital is responsible for completing clinical assessments for all children
referred to the program in the Hamilton-Niagara Region and providing the clinical supervision and
direction for the Autism Intervention Program.
Referrals to the program are made through Contact agencies in each community with the
exception of Hamilton. Hamilton referrals are through the Intake office at the Chedoke Site.
Children must have a confirmed diagnosis of autism to be referred to the program.
