ABHI's International and Commercial Team going places:
ABHI is pleased to announce the promotion of Emma Pocock to the position of Events Manager.
Professional events-organiser Emma joined the Association two years ago as an Events
Executive, and, has since that time, organised a number of successful events and conferences.
not least of which have been two ABHI UK Market Conferences, the HCAI Awards and, most
recently, the Association's Legal and Regulatory Conference. Emma has, in the last year, taken
on the additional role of organising ABHI's international exhibitions.
Six months ago Sarah Izon joined ABHI on a temporary basis to assist Emma with events and
exhibitions. As of last week, Sarah has become a permanent member of ABHI's International and
Commercial team. Sarah, a graduate in Ancient History from Exeter University, also has an
events background. In previous roles Sarah assisted with the management of a series of
networking events around the country and two award ceremonies, one of which having been
held at the House of Lords.
The third and longest-serving member of the team is Theresa Ashford, who works with Emma
on the hugely successful Export Club programme. Theresa was recently honoured by receiving a
Special Award for an Outstanding Contribution to British Healthcare Exports. This Award
presented to Theresa by Lord Darzi on behalf of Middle East Hospital at Arab Health, was in
acknowledgement of her assistance to UK medical device companies, most notably through the
International e-Newsletter.
Paul Benton, ABHI's Director – International and Commercial who heads up the department
said:' The department has a small, but extremely talented and hard-working team all striving
towards the common goal of delivering an efficient and highly-professional service to the UK
healthcare industry'.
