Sarah Oo, Director of Community Health Improvement at MGH Chelsea, to receive Service Excellence Award from Massachusetts General Hospital Sarah Oo, the director of Community Health Improvement at MGH Chelsea, will receive special recognition as part of the first class of Service Excellence Award from Massachusetts General Hospital. Recipients of the Service Excellence Leadership Award were nominated by their colleagues in acknowledgement of the passion they demonstrate for the patient experience. The award comes from the people who work with Sarah, which makes the honor even more meaningful. As a recipient of the Service Leadership Award, Sarah will receive a trophy, certificate, pin and a cash award of $500. Sarah Abernethy Oo has held her position as the Director of Community Health Improvement at MGH Chelsea for more than 15 years. In this role, she leads a staff of more than 35 who implement public health and community health programs and strategies. These programs target issues such as hunger, obesity, cancer prevention, refugee and immigrant health, family violence, substance use disorders, maternal and child health and access to care. Sarah works tirelessly to make sure all patients can access needed medical services and receive the support they need to live healthy lives. Sarah also is a member of the senior staff at the MGH Center for Community health Improvement that partners to improve and sustain the health and well-being of communities. ###
